Something very exciting is happening this week in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The 2013 Men's and Women's Curling Nationals are taking place all week. What's even more exciting is that this year the semi-final and final games will be on national television. In the past there has only be online web-streaming of the event. The link to follow along can be found here. Curling zone also has great coverage of the event. In addition live coverage of featured games are playing all day at this link.
All this hype about the curling event has made me think about how the sport of curling has impacted my life, in particular my work in regulatory. I think the main thing I have taken away from curling and used in other aspects of my life is the communication involved with other players. In curling having good communication and team chemistry is really important. I think the same can be said for working in regulatory. There is constant communication between people on project teams (engineers, marketing people, manufacturing etc) as well as communication between different regulatory bodies.
Check out the web-streaming on the link listed above and see for yourself all of the communication!
