My son was watching Disney's Beauty and the Beast in the car this weekend and I noticed, being the complete nerd that I am, that Belle and the Beast conducted a pretty good root cause analysis:

As Belle is washing the Beast's wounds -
Beast: [roaring] Aaargh! That hurts!
Belle: If you'd hold still, it wouldn't hurt as much!
Beast: Well if you hadn't have run away, this wouldn't have happened.
Belle: If you hadn't frightened me, I wouldn't have run away!
Beast: Well you shouldn't have been in the west wing!
Belle: Well, you should learn to control your temper. Now, hold still. This might sting a little.

Okay - so not the most perfect root cause analysis. I'm sure we could debate the true root cause at length, whether Belle's curiosity bringing her to the West Wing, or if the Beast's temper was truly the cause. In any case, I found it curious that the writers laid out these lines in this order. I think it's highly doubtful that any of them actually thought it would be a root cause analysis, but it is certainly neat to find these little nuggets of quality in pop culture.
